Trading statement
In terms of the Listing Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are required
to publish a trading statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that
the financial results for the period to be reported on will be more than 20%
different from that of the previous corresponding period.
Accordingly, a review of the financial results by management has indicated that
for the year ending 28 February 2010, earnings per share (EPS) and headline
earnings per share (HEPS) for the group are expected to be approximately 80%
lower compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
This is in line with our interim trading update. The recovery that was
anticipated did not materialise in the second half of the financial year but was
delayed and we are now experiencing this recovery in the first quarter of the
new financial year.
A further announcement in this regard will be made once the Company has
determined its precise range for the period ended 28 February 2010.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the Group`s auditors.
The results for the year ending 28 February 2010 are expected to be published on
or around 24 May 2010.
