ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND ANNUAL REPORT
The Metropolitan annual report ("the annual report"), containing the financial
statements of the company for the year ended 31 December 2009, prepared in
accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, was posted to
shareholders on 31 March 2010. The annual report is available on the company`s
website on www.metropolitan.co.za. An abridged annual report will not be
published as the information previously published in Metropolitan`s audited
group results on 9 March 2010 remains unchanged.
The requisite 21 days` notice was given for the ninth Annual General Meeting
("AGM") of Metropolitan shareholders which will be held at 14:00 on Tuesday, 25
May 2010, in the auditorium at Parc du Cap 7, Mispel Road, Bellville, Cape Town,
to transact the business as stated in the Notice of AGM. The notice was issued
together with the annual report.
