BUFFELSFONTEIN GOLD MINE CONDUCTS SAFETY AUDIT
Simmers has begun conducting a safety audit at its Buffelsfontein Gold Mine
in the North West Province, following a fall of ground on Tuesday, 04 May 2010
that claimed the lives of three employees. The audit will cover support
compliance and rock conditions for all working places, access ways and
travelling ways.
The Department of Mineral Resources has issued a Section 54 Notice suspending
work on all shafts pending the outcome of the audit.
