TRADING STATEMENT
In compliance with paragraph 3.4(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the board of directors wish to advise shareholders that the Group`s
headline earnings and earnings per share (i.e. operating profit less debtors
costs, net finance costs and taxation) attributable to shareholders for the
six months ended 28 February 2010 are expected to be between 135 and 145
cents per share. The loss and headline loss per share for the six months
ended 28 February 2009 (previous corresponding period) was 17,4 cents and
19,0 cents per share respectively. The results of the previous corresponding
period included the effect of a tax settlement of R338 million.
Shareholders are further advised that the forecast financial information
contained in this Trading Statement has neither been reviewed nor reported on
by the Group`s external auditors.
The Group`s results for the six months ended 28 February 2010 will be
released on SENS on or about Monday, 17 May 2010.
