SIMMERS APPOINTS MARIUS SAAIMAN AS CFO                                          
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited,  
shareholders are advised that Simmers has appointed Marius Saaiman as Chief     
Financial Officer effective 1 July 2010, as the permanent replacement for       
interim CFO Robert Cowley.  Mr. Saaiman joins Simmers from Macquarie First      
South Advisors where he fulfilled the role of Managing Director of the          
Resources Mergers and Acquisitions team.                                        
CEO, Nico Schoeman commented, "After an extensive search, I`m delighted to      
announce Marius`s appointment. He brings a wide range of skills and experience  
to our executive team which will assist us to grow and develop Simmers into a   
mid-tier gold producer."                                                        
Marius Saaiman commented, "The Board has made some incisive and tough decisions 
over the past few months to lay strong foundations for the future. I thank the  
Board for their confidence in me and with their continued support I believe that
we are set to build a company intent on the creation of shareholder value."     
Mr Saaiman, 38, studied BCom majoring in accounts and audits at the Rand        
Afrikaans University, followed by the completion of an Honours degree in BCom.  
He successfully concluded his Chartered Institute of Management Accountants     
final exam and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered          
Accountants (SAICA). In his most recent role at Macquarie, Mr Saaiman was       
responsible for coverage of the resource sector as well as advising on M&A      
within this sector. He previously held positions as an Investment Advisor at    
African Global Capital and as the head of the Corporate Finance and Treasury at 
Kumba Iron Ore Limited. Before this, he was vice president in the Corporate     
Finance Department at Anglo American plc, where he advised Anglo on the De Beers
empowerment transaction, the Tongaat Hulett Limited unbundling and listing of   
Hulamin Limited and on the merger of its sugar interests in Zimbabwe. He also   
advised Mondi on its empowerment transactions in South Africa with Shanduka     
Resources.
