GEN - General - Request for comment on new proposed JSE Debt Listings
Requirements
The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) merged with the Bond Exchange of South
Africa (BESA) on 1 July 2009 and one of the deliverables of the merger was to
combine the debt listings requirements of the two exchanges. The Issuer Service
Division of the JSE has now finalised the drafting of the proposed new Listings
Requirements for Debt Instruments (the "Requirements"). These Requirements will
be applicable to all debt instruments listed on the JSE, irrespective of whether
they are listed for trading on the trading platforms of the Interest Rates
Division or the JSE Main Board. The Requirements are based on the practices
developed by both exchanges over the years and embody the core principles of
Independence and Transparency.
The JSE invites comment on the proposed Debt Listings Requirements from the
market, to be submitted to thandekam@jse.co.za by 31 July 2010. The complete
Debt Listings Requirements document is available at www.jse.co.za under the
Regulation section.
