TRADING UPDATE
Shareholders are advised that Alert is in the process of finalising its
results for the year ended 30 June 2010 and anticipates that the group will
reflect a basic and headline loss per share for the year under review.
The company`s revenue remained on similar levels when compared to the revenue
of the corresponding period but margins came under severe pressure due to
extreme volatility in steel prices and tough market conditions. The group has
and is in the process of implementing measures to reduce costs and to improve
operations and productivity throughout the group, the full benefits of which
is expected to be realised in 2011 financial year.
At this stage, the company is unable to quantify, with any degree of
certainty, the expected basic and headline loss per share for the year ended
30 June 2010 and will release a further trading statement containing such
detail in due course when more certainty has been obtained.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not
been reviewed or reported on by the company`s auditors.
