APPOINTMENT OF GROUP FD AND GRINAKER-LTA MD
In compliance with paragraph 3.59(a) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, The Aveng Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Kobus
Verster as an Executive Director of Aveng Limited with effect from 1 September
2010. Mr Verster will assume the role of Financial Director with effect from
27 September 2010.
Mr Verster holds a BCom degree from the University of Potchefstroom and a BCom
Honours (Economy) degree from the University of South Africa. He also holds an
MBL from the University of South Africa and attended the Executive Management
Program at the University of Virginia in the USA. In 1990 Mr Verster joined
Iscor Limited and has held various senior roles in financial management with
that company. He has also had international experience with the Mittal Steel
Group. Mr Verster has resigned as Chief Financial Officer of ArcelorMittal South
Africa and will be leaving on 23 August 2010.
With effect from 27 September 2010, the Board of Aveng Limited will be
constituted as follows - AWB Band* (Chairman), WR Jardine (CEO), K Verster (FD),
MA Hermanus*, RL Hogben*, JJA Mashaba, VZ Mntambo*, DG Robinson (Australian),
MJD Ruck*, RC Rumble*, NL Sowazi*, PK Ward*.
The Aveng Group is also pleased to announce the appointment of Eugene Erasmus
as Managing Director of Grinaker-LTA with immediate effect. Mr Erasmus has
fulfilled the role of acting Managing Director of Grinaker-LTA since 1 March
2010.
A professional engineer with an MEng degree from Stellenbosch University, Mr
Erasmus has headed numerous business units within Grinaker-LTA over the past
30 years. Mr Erasmus has a wealth of multi-disciplinary construction and
engineering experience and has been pivotal in driving the strategic
repositioning of Grinaker-LTA.
The Board of Aveng Limited and its executive management look forward to the
continuation of Mr Erasmus` valuable contribution to the future performance of
Grinaker-LTA.
The Aveng Group is currently in a closed period and will release the results for
the year ended 30 June 2010 on or about 8 September 2010.
