APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The boards of directors of Nedbank Group and Nedbank Limited have pleasure in
announcing the appointment of Joel Netshitenzhe as an independent non-
executive director with effect from 5 August 2010.
Joel Netshitenzhe is executive director of the Mapungubwe Institute (MISTRA)
and a member of the National Planning Commission. He has been a member of the
national executive committee of the African National Congress (ANC) since
1991, and is a member of the ANC`s economic transformation and political
education subcommittees. He served as head of Policy Co-ordination and
Advisory Services in The Presidency from 2001 until December 2009. He was
previously chief executive of the Government Communication and Information
Services and also served as head of communication in the President`s Office.
Nedbank Group chairman, Reuel Khoza, said: "Joel has been at the forefront of
policy development in post-apartheid South Africa. His extensive experience in
social policy, economics, politics and communications will enable him to add
significant value to the group and strengthen the independent non-executive
component of the board."
