BLACK ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT ("BEE") TRANSACTIONS - APPOINTMENT OF
INDEPENDENT EXPERT
With reference to the announcement published on SENS on 20 August 2010
wherein shareholders of Simeka were informed that the Company had
entered into agreements by which it is proposing to implement certain
BEE transactions, shareholders are advised that the appointment as an
independent expert of Moore Stephens (Jhb) Corporate Finance
(Proprietary) Limited ("Moore Stephens Corporate Finance") by the board
of Simeka has not formally been processed by the JSE Limited as Moore
Stephens will merge with BDO Advisory Services (Pty) Limited with
effect from 1 September 2010 and will trade as BDO Corporate Finance
(Pty) Limited from that date.
Shareholders are therefore advised of the change in the name of the
independent expert and that the appointment of BDO Corporate Finance
will be processed after 1 September 2010. A copy of the fairness
opinion of the independent expert will be included in the circular
convening a general meeting of shareholders to approve the BEE
Transaction which will be posted to Simeka shareholders in due course.
