The Company was notified on 30 September 2010 that on 30 September 2010 Mr J P
Daly, an executive director and a person discharging managerial
responsibilities, purchased 21,200 British American Tobacco p.l.c. shares (the
"Shares") at a price of 2408.57 pence per Share.
Following this transaction, Mr Daly has a total beneficial and family interest
in 52,417 Shares* (including 29,624 Deferred Shares).
*This balance includes an additional 331 Shares identified for Mr Daly`s
beneficial interest since the last announcement for Mr Daly made on 19 August
2010.
