WITHDRAWAL OF CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Further to the cautionary announcement dated 10 September 2010 relating to
Mercantile`s BEE discussions, shareholders are advised that Mercantile and the
relevant parties have agreed to terminate the current negotiations in light of
prevailing international market conditions.
Mercantile remains committed to empowerment at shareholder level and will
continue to explore appropriate opportunities based on conducive market
circumstances.
Shareholders are therefore no longer required to exercise caution when dealing
in their Mercantile shares.
