KELLY GROUP REAFFIRMS ITS BEE RATING
Johannesburg, 19 October 2010 - Listed employment services provider the Kelly
Group today reaffirmed its status as a level 2 contributor to meaningful broad-
based black economic empowerment and dismissed as unfounded a report which
questioned its BEE credentials.
At the same time, Empowerdex, the independent BEE rating agency which verified
Kelly Group`s level 2 status, said in a statement*: "We are completely satisfied
that the information provided to us by the Kelly Group in order to conduct our
assessment was a full and true disclosure of its empowerment status. We confirm
that the rating was done according to the BEE Codes of good practice, following
the requirements in the Verification Manual."
The statement adds: "We will not comment on Borena Consulting`s allegations
levelled against our client as we have not had access to its assessment
methodology or working papers. In addition, because Borena Consulting is not a
SANAS (South African National Accreditation System) accredited verification
agency, we caution that any BEE assessment conducted by Borena Consulting may
not have been conducted in line with the SANAS approved Verification Manual."
Kelly Group chief executive Grenville Wilson says the group adheres to the
highest standard of governance and rejected as scurrilous any suggestion that it
would seek to mislead its stakeholders by window-dressing its empowerment
credentials.
The company`s empowerment efforts have received numerous accolades including an
Oliver Empowerment Award for the Top Empowered Company of the Year (2009) and a
top ten finish in the last two Financial Mail`s Top Empowerment Companies on the
JSE survey.
