UPDATE ON CONTINGENT LIABILITY AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Shareholders are advised that the outstanding matter relating to assessments
issued in terms of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act,
No 130 of 1993 which gave rise to a contingent liability of R 13.5 million in
the 2009 financial statements (2008: R 12 million), has been concluded in the
company`s favour. The outcome is that the company has no liability, contingent
or otherwise, in this regard.
In a matter unrelated to the above, shareholders are advised that the company
has entered into discussions which, if successfully concluded, may have an
effect on the price of the company`s securities. Accordingly, shareholders are
advised to exercise caution when dealing in the company`s securities until a
detailed announcement is made.
