APPOINTMENT OF AN INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
In compliance with paragraph 3.59(a) of the Listings Requirements of the
JSE Limited, The Aveng Group is pleased to announce the appointment of
Thoko Mokgosi-Mwantembe as an independent non-executive director of the
Group with effect from 13 December 2010.
Ms Mokgosi-Mwantembe is currently the CEO of Kutana Investment Group. She
was a former CEO of Hewlett-Packard South Africa and Alcatel South Africa
and has worked in senior positions at Siemens Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd,
Lucent Technologies and Telkom. Ms Mokgosi-Mwantembe is also an independent
non-executive director on the boards of the Vodacom Group and the ABSA Group.
Ms Mokgosi-Mwantembe holds an MSc Medical Chemistry degree from Loughborough
University of Technology, UK, and a BSc from the University of Swaziland. She
has completed senior executive programmes through IMD and Wits/Harvard Business
Schools.
The Board looks forward to the contribution that Ms Thoko Mokgosi-Mwantembe
will make to The Aveng Group.
With effect from 13 December 2010, the Board of Aveng Limited will be
constituted as follows - AWB Band* (Chairman), WR Jardine (CEO), HJ Verster
(FD), MA Hermanus*, RL Hogben*, JJA Mashaba, DG Robinson (Australian), MJD
Ruck*, RC Rumble*, NL Sowazi*, PK Ward* and T Mokgosi-Mwantembe*.
