APPOINTMENT OF GROUP COO - SEAN ROGERS
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Rogers as
Group Chief Operating Officer with effect from 1 December 2010.
Sean has been COO of the Group`s South African businesses since his appointment
to the Board in April 2009 and now has the added operational responsibility of
the Group`s international businesses. He will continue to report directly to
Group CEO, Richard Friedman and work closely with all the divisional heads.
As previously disclosed, the Group`s OEM business has won a number of
international production programs incorporating its proprietary OpenECU
technology. These products are designed and developed by Pi Shurlok in the
United Kingdom and the United States of America and will be manufactured at Pi
Shurlok`s facility in Pietermaritzburg. Production begins in late 2011 and
additional new products will be coming on stream throughout 2012 and 2013.
The successful implementation of these programs will complete the transformation
of Pi Shurlok into a fully-fledged Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier to the
international automotive industry. Critical to the success of this is a high
degree of interaction between Pi Shurlok`s international design and development
operations and the manufacturing facility. In his role as Group COO Sean is
ideally positioned to drive the implementation of these programs.
Sean retains operational responsibility for CI Automotive, the Group`s
aftermarket business, which distributes quality branded products to the
automotive aftermarket in sub-Saharan Africa.
