The Company was notified on 4 January 2011 that on 4 January 2011 Mr R Kindts, a
person discharging managerial responsibilities, acquired 668 British American
Tobacco p.l.c. ordinary shares of 25p each (the "Shares") following the exercise
of options held under the British American Tobacco Sharesave Scheme at an option
price of GBP14.35 per Share.
Following this notification, Mr Kindts has a total beneficial and family
interest in 126,443 Shares (including 27,074 Deferred Shares).
