In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited`s Listings Requirements, the board
of directors of Basil Read announces the untimely passing away of Miss
Ntombekaya Yvonne September, who was an independent non-executive director of
the Group. Her wise counsel, astute leadership and positive contribution to the
affairs of the Group will be sorely missed.
The Group extends its deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to her family.
