TREASURY SHARES - TRANSFERS
In accordance with Listing Rule 12.6.4, Anglo American plc announces that on 5th
and 6th January 2011 respectively, 24,500 shares were transferred out of the
Company`s holding of treasury shares in order to satisfy maturing share options
under the Company`s ESOS plan and 390 shares were transferred out of the
Company`s holding of treasury shares to satisfy maturing share options under the
Company`s SAYE plan.
Following the transfers, Anglo American plc has a total of 22,850,578 ordinary
shares held in treasury and a total of 1,320,083,272 ordinary shares in issue,
excluding treasury shares.
