APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited`s Listings Requirements, the board
of Afdawn is pleased to advise that Ms H H Hickey has been appointed as
independent non-executive director of the company and chairperson of the
company`s audit committee with effect from 21 February 2011. Ms Hickey, a
qualified chartered accountant, consults to various companies specialising in
risk. She is currently non-executive director and audit committee chair for two
listed companies, Omnia Limited and Glenrand MIB Limited. She also chairs the
audit committee of joint ventures between a number of listed companies and is a
Trustee and an Audit and Risk Committee member of the Sentinal Pension Fund and
the Mineworkers Pension Fund.
Ms Hickey is a past Chairperson of the South African Institute of Chartered
Accountants and completed two terms as a member of the Johannesburg Municipality
Audit Committee. She gained extensive risk experience at AngloGold Ashanti
Limited, where she carried executive responsibility as Head of Risk, and at
Marsh South Africa (Pty) Limited. Earlier experience included spells at Liberty
Life and accounting firms, Ernst & Young, BDO and Fisher Hoffman. Ms Hickey
lectured auditing at the University of the Witwatersrand and was a member of the
King 11 task team.
