AMD REPORT RELEASE
Central Rand Gold notes today`s release of the report to the Inter-ministerial
Committee on Acid Mine Drainage ("the Report"), copies of which are available
from the following website address:
http://www.dwaf.gov.za/
The Company welcomes the overall direction and funding commitment from the South
African Government to the issue of AMD and is currently in the process of
reviewing the Report.
In addition the Company will be requesting a meeting with Government to clarify
the content of the Report. The following main issues will be proposed for
discussion:
- The actual pump and pump station design;
- The cost allocation between Government and Witwatersrand based mining
houses for implementation of the pumping station and related pumping costs;
and
- The level at which the pumps will be situated below surface level.
