Final Dividend for the year ended 31 December 2010 (No. 21)
The Directors of Old Mutual plc are recommending a final dividend for the year
ended 31 December 2010 of 2.9p per share, which will be paid, subject to being
approved by shareholders at the Company`s 2011 Annual General Meeting, on 31 May
2011.
Shareholders on the South African, Zimbabwe and Malawi branch registers and the
Namibian section of the principal register will be paid the local currency cash
equivalents of the dividend under dividend access trust arrangements established
in each country. Shareholders who hold their shares through Euroclear Sweden AB,
the Swedish nominee, will be paid the cash equivalent of the dividend in Swedish
Kronor (SEK). Local currency cash equivalents of the dividend for all five
territories will be determined by the Company using exchange rates prevailing at
the close of business on 31 March 2011 and will be announced by the Company on 1
April 2011.
A scrip dividend alternative will again be available for eligible shareholders
who wish to receive new ordinary shares in the Company in lieu of cash in
respect of the final dividend. The dates by which elections to join the scrip
dividend scheme for the final dividend must be received from shareholders who
have not already made an evergreen election to participate in the scheme are set
out in the table below. Shareholders should note that they will not be able to
trade their entitlement to new ordinary shares issued pursuant to the scrip
dividend scheme until 31 May 2011. The full terms of the scrip dividend scheme
are contained in a booklet which is available (along with related mandate forms)
on the Company`s website at www.oldmutual.com or from the Company`s registrars.
Share certificates for shareholders on the South African branch register may not
be dematerialised or rematerialised between 11 and 15 April 2011, both dates
