APPOINTMENT OF FINANCIAL DIRECTOR
In compliance with paragraph 3.59(a) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the Board of Directors of SA French is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr Peter van Zyl as the Financial Director of the Company with
effect from 22 March 2011.
The appointment is an interim one to provide support to the current executive
management and to ensure that the financial governance of the business is
maintained. The Company will continue to look for a full time appointment to
the position by the end of the year through a rigorous and detailed process to
ensure the correct individual is identified and appointed. Mr van Zyl will
assist in this process and provide a smooth handover and support when the full
time appointment is made to ensure the financial function is not compromised in
any way.
Mr van Zyl has wide-ranging operational experience in financial management and
Financial Director roles and has entrepreneurial experience, with a particular
focus on the ICT industry. From 2004 to 2009 he was Commercial Director of
Sekunjalo Investments Limited, where he managed a wide range of transactions,
including the Sekunjalo Health Care Rights Issue, the acquisition of a BEE stake
in British Telecom and Marine Growers from Transnet, as well as the
restructuring of Sekunjalo Financial Services and hence has many years of
experience in the listed environment.
Since 2009 Mr van Zyl has been Financial Director of AfrAsia Corporate Finance.
AfrAsia Corporate Finance is a Cape Town based associate of Mauritian
headquartered AfrAsia Bank. It provides financial advisory and capital raising
solutions to clients in connection with Mergers & Acquisitions, Restructurings
and other strategic matters. It also manages investment funds that integrate
capital with its advisory capabilities.
