APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In accordance with rule 3.59(a) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, shareholders of the Company are hereby advised that Dr. Mpumela
Kayalethu Makaba ("Dr. Makaba") has been appointed as a non-executive
director of the Company, with effect from 10 May 2011.
Dr. Makaba holds a MB Chb degree from Medunsa (1985), after which he
practiced as a General Practitioner in Garankuwa, Pretoria from 1988 to 1998
and Midrand from 1999 to 2002, during which time he served on several
community structures. He has wide experience in healthcare provider network
development having been the founding chairman of Tshwane Health Providers Co-
operative, chairman of National Health Providers Group, director at African
Health Synergies and was instrumental in the formation of the majority of
Black Doctor Independent Practitioner Associations in South Africa. Current
directorships of Dr. Makaba include Phodiso Holdings, Mediclinic Corporation,
Phodiso Medical Management and Faranani Health Solutions. He also serves on
the boards of various other non-healthcare companies.
The Ububele board welcomes the appointment of Dr. Makaba and looks forward to
