CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In accordance with paragraph 3.5.9 of the JSE Listings Requirements, Anglo
American Platinum Limited (Amplats) is pleased to announce the appointment of
Albertinah Kekana as an independent non-executive director, effective 1st July
2011. Her appointment brings the total number of independent non-executive
directors on the Amplats board to seven members.
Ms Kekana is the outgoing Chief Operating Officer of the Public Investment
Corporation (PIC). She joins the Amplats Board as a highly experienced
independent director and will be a welcome addition to the Audit Committee. She
is a highly respected leader with extensive experience in the public sector and
investment banking. She has worked in strategic positions both locally and
abroad in organisations such as Kagiso Trust Investments, UBS (London and New
York) and NM Rothschild (London). At the PIC, she managed over R900 billion of
funds, guiding investment decisions in major organisations including SAA, Telkom
and Pareto.
