Chairman`s Statement at the Annual General Meeting
After 5 months of the current financial year, it gives me pleasure to update
shareholders regarding the present trading position of the Group.
Order book levels are well ahead of the position reported at the end of December
2010. In particular, the demand for mining fans in mineral rich countries to the
north of South Africa has increased orders on hand in this sector.
While the Environmental Control Division is still low in order intake, the
enquiry levels have improved significantly. Resource and capacity in this area
of the business will be increased as soon as these prospects convert to orders.
Both the Power Division and Howden Fan Equipment Mining Division continue to
trade strongly and maintain their pre-eminent market positions.
