In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the board of directors of Santam Limited ("the board") hereby notifies
its shareholders that Mr Jan Gysbert le Roux has resigned with effect from 10
June 2011 as a Non-Executive Director. Mr le Roux has served on the board since
23 May 2000. He has contributed significantly to the success of Santam and
Management and the Board take this opportunity of thanking him for his dedicated
contribution to the Group and wish him well in his future endeavours.
