APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN
In line with the requirements of the Absa Board Charter and the King Code of
Governance for South Africa 2009 (King III), the boards of directors of Absa
Group and Absa Bank (the board), after due consideration of the matter, has
re-appointed Mr Garth Griffin as Chairman of the board. The board is satisfied
that no factors have come to the attention of the board that impairs the
independence of the Chairman.
