CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF DISCOVERY HOLDINGS AND ITS OPERATING
SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES
In compliance with the Listing Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders
are advised of the appointment of Dr. Ayanda Ntsaluba as an Executive Director
of Discovery Holdings, as well as a director of certain of Discovery`s operating
subsidiary companies, being Discovery Health, Discovery Life and Vitality
Healthstyle, with effect from 1 July 2011.
Dr. Ntsaluba is a qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, with an MSc in
Health Policy Planning and Financing from the University of London, an Executive
MBA from the University of Cape Town, and training programmes in International
Relations, Political Economy, and Philosophy (Moscow Institute of Social
Sciences), Health Leadership (Cambridge University), and a Senior Executive
Programme (Harvard University and the University of the Witwatersrand). Prior to
joining Discovery, Dr. Ntsaluba most recently served as the Director General of
the Department of International Relations and Co-operation (formerly Foreign
Affairs) of the Republic of South Africa, and prior to that, as Director
General of the Department of Health.
Dr. Ntsaluba brings extensive health systems, technical and public policy
expertise to Discovery in both a South African and international context. Going
forward, he will play an instrumental role in Discovery`s overall strategic
planning, particularly within the healthcare system, as well as in relation to
Discovery`s international expansion strategy.
