Appointment of independent non-executive director
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the Board of Directors of Merafe (the "Board") is pleased to announce
the appointment of Mr Zed van der Walt as independent non-executive director to
the Board with effect from 1 July 2011.
Mr van der Walt was the technical director of Merafe until he retired in
February 2008. Prior to Merafe, he was the CEO of CMI Limited and has 35 years
of industry experience. His vast operational and management experience and
knowledge of the ferroalloy industry will be an asset to the Company.
Mr van der Walt`s qualifications include a Pr Eng, BSc Engineering (MET), MBA
and DPLR.
The Board congratulates Mr van der Walt on his appointment and wishes him every
success in his new role.
