NOTIFICATION TO JCI SHAREHOLDERS
Shareholders of JCI Limited ("JCI") have been informed that Hemispherx Biopharma
Incorporated (a United States based pharmaceutical company) ("Hemispherx")
obtained a judgment against JCI in the United States on 11 August 2010 for an
amount of US $188 492 319.
JCI on the advice of its legal advisors took a limited part in the
abovementioned proceedings on various preliminary bases including the
jurisdiction of the United States Court. Following the Court`s ruling on
jurisdiction, JCI on the recommendation of its legal advisors withdrew from the
case.
Hemispherx is now seeking enforcement of this judgment in South Africa and on
28 June 2011 it served an application on JCI to this effect.
JCI will be vigorously opposing the application. JCI shareholders are advised
to continue to exercise caution when trading in their shares in terms of the
cautionary announcement dated 28 June 2011.
