The independent trustee of the SABMiller plc Employees` Benefit Trust ("EBT")
notified the Company on 1 August 2011 that it had on 1 August 2011 exercised its
discretion and released 167,000 ordinary shares in SABMiller plc to persons
discharging managerial responsibility (PDMRs) participating in the Performance
Share Award Scheme, as summarised in the table below. These shares relate to
conditional awards made in 2008 to the PDMRs named below.

In accordance with the terms of the share awards sufficient shares were sold to
meet tax liabilities. The shares sold were purchased by the EBT. Following
these transactions, the EBT holds a total of 6,387,674 ordinary shares in
SABMiller plc in which certain senior employees including the following
directors and PDMRs have an interest as potential beneficiaries: Mr E.A.G.
Mackay, Mr. J.S. Wilson, Mr. N. J. Adami, Mr. M. J. Bowman, Dr. A. J. Clark, Ms.
S. M. Clark, Mr J. Davidson, Mr N.T. Fell, Mr. C.A. van Kralingen, Mr K. G.
Lippert and Mr A. Mervis.
