Changes to the board of directors
In compliance with the requirements and recommendations of the JSE, Companies
Act and King III respectively, additional directors appointments have become
necessary. The AfroCentric Board identified a number of excellent candidates for
selection and, after a rigorous process, have appointed two exceptional
individuals to join the Board.
Having regard thereto, and in terms of paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited`s
Listings Requirements, the board of Afrocentric is pleased to advise that Mrs
Yasmin Masithela and Mr Garth Napier have been appointed as independent non-
executive directors of the company with effect from 1 September 2011.
Mrs Masithela graduated with a BA (LLB) from the University of Cape Town (1995)
and has, in addition, obtained a Masters in Tax Law and diplomas in Company Law
and Finance and Accounting. Mrs Masithela has been engaged in senior legal
positions at various local and international institutions over the past 13
years.
Mr Napier has a BComm honours from the University of Natal (2000). In addition,
he has an MBA from Harvard Business School (2005) and has filled senior
positions at local and international companies in the fields of marketing and
strategy over the last 10 years.
The board welcomes Mrs Masithela and Mr Napier to the company.
