In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the board of directors of Santam Limited ("the board") hereby
notifies its shareholders that Mr DCM Gihwala has resigned as a non-
executive director with effect from 1 September 2011. Mr Gihwala served
on the board since 28 May 2008. The Board takes this opportunity to thank
him for his contribution to the Group and wishes him well in his future
endeavours.
