PRODUCTION RESUMES AT THE TAU LEKOA GOLD MINE ("TAU LEKOA")
Further to the announcement of 24 August 2011 regarding a seismic event that
regrettably resulted in the loss of life of an employee and the halting of all
stoping production at Tau Lekoa on 24 August 2011, Village has today received
permission from the inspectorate of the Department of Mineral Resources to
resume operations at Tau Lekoa with immediate effect. The production stoppage is
unlikely to materially impact on production at Tau Lekoa.
The seismic event affected 4 out of the current 68 production panels being
mined. The affected area shall remain closed while management at Tau Lekoa
perform a full risk assessment in relation to the affected area. It is
anticipated that the affected area will not contribute to gold production for
some 4 to 5 weeks, post the completion of the risk assessment.
