APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the board of directors of Erbacon hereby notifies its shareholders that
Mr. Coenie Vermaak ("Coenie") has been appointed as an executive director with
effect from Wednesday, 31 August 2011.
Coenie (37) is a qualified civil engineer with 15 years experience in the
construction industry. Until recently, he was employed at Murray & Roberts,
where he led the MPS Joint Venture, a joint venture between Murray & Roberts and
Grinaker-LTA which tendered for and secured the construction contract for Medupi
Power Station main civil work contract. After the contract was awarded Coenie
accepted the position of Project Director responsible for the implementation of
the contract which has grown from a contract value of R3bn to around R8bn,
employing some 4 800 construction workers.
Coenie joined the Erbacon Group as managing director of Civcontract Civils (Pty)
Ltd (Civcon) with effect from the 1 August 2011, taking over from Lex Henning,
who founded and led the company for the past 30 years, building it into the
successful civil contracting company that it is today.
Lex has stepped down from his role as managing director of Civcon but will
remain on the Board as an executive director of the group.
The board welcomes the appointment of Coenie and looks forward to his valued
contributions.
