ANGLO AMERICAN PLATINUM LIMITED SIGNS WAGE AGREEMENT                            
Anglo American Platinum Limited (Amplats) has formally signed a wage            
agreement with the National Union of Mine Workers (NUM), National Union of      
Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) and United Association of South Africa     
(UASA), resulting from this year`s wage negotiation process.                    
The details of the agreement are as follows:                                    
Wage increase                                                                   
Year 1:                                                                         
10% A to B Bands                                                                
8.5% C to D1 Bands                                                              
Year 2:                                                                         
9% A and B                                                                      
8% C to D1 Bands

In the event that the twelve month average year on year Consumer Price Index    
(CPI) equals 8% in year 2 the wage increase will be 8% plus 2% for C and D1     
bands and 9% plus 2% for A and B bands.

to focus our efforts on ensuring that our employees have access to free         
voluntary testing and counselling for HIV and treatment is offered to those     
who require it and to their immediate family members.
