TRADING UPDATE
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are
required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are satisfied
that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that the financial results
for the period to be reported on will differ by 20% or more from the
financial results for the previous corresponding period.
Shareholders are advised that Ansys is currently finalising its interim
results for the period ended 31 August 2011. Ansys` earnings per share
and headline earnings per share for the period are expected to be
between 3.72 and 4.47 cents per share compared to the previous year`s
0.21 cents per share. The financial information on which this trading
statement is based has not been reviewed or reported on by Ansys`
auditors.
The expected increase in earnings is mainly attributable to Ansys`
ability to contain costs and improved gross profit margins. The absence
of discontinued operations also resulted in a significant improvement
in earnings and headline earnings per share.
The Company expects the recovery in performance to continue in the
second half of the year through the execution of current orders and
continued sales, particularly the Continuous Rope Monitoring System,
which is now in continuous production.
The results for the period ended 31 August 2011 are expected to be
published on SENS on 19 October 2011.
