SANTAM LIMITED - APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the Listing Requirements of the JSE
Limited, shareholders are advised of the following important changes to
the board of directors:
Appointment
Mr Monwabisi Fandeso has been appointed to the Santam Limited board as
an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 10 October 2011.
Monwabisi has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Master of Business
Administration from the University of Wales and the Wharton Business
School at the University of Pennsylvania, respectively. Monwabisi also
holds a CSEP from the Columbia Business School.
Monwabisi was the Chief Executive Officer of Thebe Insurance Group from
July 2008 to July 2011. He has also held directorships at Shell South
Africa, SABMiller Africa, The Land and Agricultural Development Bank
and SA Breweries Limited.
We look forward to Monwabisi`s contribution to Santam Limited as an
Independent Non-Executive Director and as a member of the Company`s
Audit Committee.
