TRADING STATEMENT FOR THE SIX MONTH ENDED 31 AUGUST 2011
In terms of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, companies are required to
publish a trading statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that the
financial results for the period to be reported on will differ by more than 20%
from that of the previous corresponding period. Sanyati is currently finalising
its results for the six months ended 31 August 2011.
Shareholders are advised that earnings per share and headline earnings per share
are expected to be approximately 40% to 45% less than the previous corresponding
period.
This movement is largely attributable to the competitive market conditions that
have been evident in Sanyati`s traditional markets in South Africa in the last
18 months. The result is very much in line with those for the second six months
of the reported results for the year ended 28 February 2011 and the company has
made sound progress with the improvement of the order book to a value of R1.6
billion as at 31 August 2011.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the company`s auditors.
The results for the six months ended 31 August 2011 are expected to be published
on SENS on or about 25 October 2011.
