APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR
The board of the company is pleased to advise, in terms of paragraph 3.59
of the JSE Listings Requirements, of the appointment of Roderick John Alwyn
(Roddy) Sparks, as an independent non- executive director of the company
with effect from 1 February 2012.
Mr Sparks is a non-executive director of JSE-listed Imperial Holdings Ltd
and Trencor Ltd, as well as of a number of unlisted companies. He is a
qualified chartered accountant and holds BCom (Hons) and MBA degrees from
the University of Cape Town.Over the period 2000 to 2006 he was Managing
Director of Old Mutual South Africa having served in a number of management
positions in that group since 1987.
In welcoming Mr Sparks to the company, the board noted his extensive and
varied experience, and looked forward to the key contribution he would be
making to the Truworths International group from a strategy, investment,
risk and governance perspective.
