SANTAM LIMITED - APPOINTMENTS TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the Listing Requirements of the JSE Limited,
shareholders are advised of the following important changes to the board of
directors:
Appointment
Ms Marion Lesego Dawn Marole (Dawn) has been appointed to the Santam Limited
board as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 13 December
2011. Dawn is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from the University of Zululand
and has a diploma in Tertiary Education from UNISA. She also holds an MBA from
North Eastern University, Boston (USA) and has completed the Global Executive
Leadership Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business.
Dawn is currently the Chairperson of Executive Magic, an Investment Holding
Company. She has held directorships at African Bank Investment Limited and
Fabcos Investment Holding Company Limited.
We look forward to Dawn`s contribution to Santam Limited as an Independent Non-
Executive Director and as a member of the Company`s Human Resources and Social,
Ethics and Sustainability Committees.
Appointment
Ms Yaganthrie (Yegs) Ramiah has been appointed to the Board as an Executive
Director with effect from 13 December 2011. Yegs is an admitted attorney and
holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws Degrees. Yegs also has a Master of
Business Administration degree and a Higher Diploma in Tax Law.
Yegs has held the position of Executive Head: People and Brand at Santam since
February 2010. She is responsible for human resources, marketing, corporate
affairs and communications.
Yegs currently hold directorships at Grindrod South Africa (Pty) Limited and
Adopt a School Foundation. She has previously been the deputy Chairperson at
Merril Lynch South Africa (Pty) Limited.
