Appointment of director
In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Listings Requirements,
shareholders are advised that Mr David Brown (BComm, CTA, CA (SA)) has been
appointed as an independent non executive director of the company with
effect from 3 January 2012. Mr Brown will become a member of Vodacom Group`s
audit, risk & compliance committee and remuneration committee.
Mr Brown is currently the chief executive officer of Impala Platinum
Holdings Limited ("Impala") and board member of numerous unlisted
subsidiaries of Impala. He held the position of financial director and chief
financial officer of Impala from 1999 to 2006 when he was made chief
executive officer. Mr Brown is the chairman of Zimplats Holdings Limited, an
ASX listed platinum group metals producer. He also served as finance
director of Amdahl South Africa and completed his articles with Ernst &
Young.
Mr Peter Moyo, Chairman of Vodacom Group, stated that he welcomed the
appointment and was looking forward to Mr Brown`s contribution on the Board.
