Durante, an Executive Director and a person discharging managerial
responsibilities, acquired 1,421 British American Tobacco p.l.c. ordinary shares
of 25p each (the "Shares") following the exercise of options held under the
British American Tobacco Sharesave Scheme at an option price of GBP11.52 per
Share.
Following this notification, Mr Durante has a total beneficial and family
interest in 219,911 Shares (including 68,225 Deferred Shares).
