In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the board of directors of Santam Limited ("the board") hereby notifies
its shareholders that Mr BP Vundla has resigned as a non-executive director with
effect from 17 January 2012. Mr Vundla served on the board since 28 May 2002
and has contributed significantly to the success of Santam during his period as
director. Management and the Board take this opportunity to thank him for his
dedicated contribution to the Group and wish him well in his future endeavours.
