DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BHP BILLITON PLC ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES

With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of BHP Billiton plc
have declared a final dividend of 55 US cents per ordinary share payable on
Thursday, 22 March 2012 to ordinary shareholders, recorded in the books of the
company at the close of business on Friday, 2 March 2012.
The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend will be announced on the
last day to trade Friday, 24 February 2012.
Accordingly, the warrant holders of the Enhanced Dividend Securities, BILIDJ,
will receive a BHP Billiton plc dividend of 55 US cents per security on
Thursday, 22 March 2012 in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the
Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited. The last day to
trade ("cum" the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be
Friday, 24 February 2012.
BILIIDJ Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading "ex" the dividend
from the commencement of business on Monday, 27 February 2012, and the record
date will be Friday, 2 March 2012.
