CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
1 In compliance with paragraph 3.59(a) of the JSE Listings Requirements,
shareholders are hereby informed of the following changes to the Board of
Directors of SA French ("the Board"):
1.1 The appointment of Mr Sandile Swana as independent non-executive
director to the Board and member to the Remunerations Committee. After
matriculating at St. John`s College in Umtata, Sandile first completed
a B.Comm through Wits under the Anglo American Scholarship Programme
and later the Business Advisors Programme at the WBS Centre for
Developing Business. Sandile also graduated from the University of
Pretoria with an MBA and from UNISA with a B.Th in Ethics. He was then
offered a sponsorship from the Department of Transport for part of a
B. Comm. Honours (Logistics), which he completed through UNISA.
Sandile prepared and presented several conference papers for IPSA, the
Supply Chain Council and SAPICS over the years. He also spent seven
years in the retail sector with both Caltex Oil and Zenex Oil where he
gained valuable experience in business planning, oil retail and
general management. Sandile also served as group operations manager
with the JSE-listed Don Group for a time. At present, Sandile serves
as non-executive director on the boards of three other JSE-listed
companies, namely Convergenet Holdings, Aflease Gold and Matodzi
Resources. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors of
Southern Africa.
1.2 The appointment of Ms Janine De Bruyn as independent non-executive
director to the Board and member to the Audit Committee. Janine
completed a BCom (Hons) in financial \analysis and portfolio
management at UCT and obtained a BCompt through UNISA, while
completing her articles at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Janine has
consulted to various black empowerment groups and financial services
companies over the last nine years specialising in the analysis of
private equity opportunities, valuations, corporate finance advice,
corporate actions, socially responsible focused private equity funds
as well as financial management. Janine gained invaluable experience
in empowerment, development finance and private equity at Sanlam
Investment Management and Futuregrowth Asset Management and has held a
number of directorships. She is a member of the Institute of Directors
of Southern Africa.
2 The Board would like to welcome Sandile and Janine and believe that their
additions will provide the Group with significant expertise and invaluable
experience.
