Trading update for the eighteen months ended 31 December 2011
In accordance with paragraph 3.4 (b) of the JSE Limited Listings
Requirements, companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon
as they become reasonably certain that the financial results for the
reporting period will differ by more than 20% from those of the previous
corresponding period. Shareholders of IFA are therefore advised that the loss
per share for the eighteen months ended 31 December 2011 is expected to be
between 61.00 cents and 63.00 cents (twelve months to 30 June 2010: loss
31.30 cents per share) and the headline loss per share for the eighteen
months ended 31 December 2011 is expected to be between 17.00 cents and 19.00
cents (twelve months to 30 June 2010: loss 26.59 cents per share).
The results for the eighteen months ended 31 December 2011 will be published
towards the end of March 2012.
The increased loss per share for the eighteen months ended 31 December 2011
is mainly attributed to provisions for the impairment of loans to associates.
The improved headline loss per share for the eighteen months ended 31
December 2011 is mainly attributable to improved results from Hotel
operations and lower finance costs.
This trading statement has not been reviewed or reported on by the Group`s
external auditors.
