UPDATE ON THE MARKALA SUGAR PROJECT - MALI
Illovo Sugar Limited ("Illovo") wishes to update investors regarding its
proposed investment in the Markala Sugar Project in Mali ("the Project").
Prospects for Illovo`s proposed investment in Mali remain constrained by
incomplete funding of the agricultural component and incomplete undertakings
required from the Government of Mali in relation to the Project. Illovo has
offered its assistance to the Government of Mali in order to resolve outstanding
issues which require urgent resolution. We will keep investors informed of
developments.
