TRADING STATEMENT
Alert Steel is in the process of completing the preparation of its results
for the six months ended 31 December 2011 for release on or about 27 March
2012.
In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as
they become reasonably certain that the financial results for the period to
be reported on next will differ by at least 20% from those of the previous
corresponding period.
Accordingly, shareholders are advised that:
There has been a positive turn around in operations, resulting in an
improvement in loss per share ("LPS") of between 90% and 96% to a loss of
between 1.4 to 3.4 cents per share (2011: LPS of 33.9 cents per share).
Headline loss per share ("HLPS") has improved between 88% and 96% to a loss
of between 1.1 to 3.2 cents per share (2011: HLPS of 26.7 cents per share).
Shareholders are advised that the information included in this announcement
has not been reviewed or reported on by the Company`s auditors.
